I would really appreciate it if somebody could give me the scoop on this engine. On front pass. side: V1029TXB and stamped over this number was this number: C7B1175498 (not sure what that number means?)
And the number on the driver's side rear is this: 3970010

I am pretty sure about this I find its a 350
truck motor from 1975 made in flint on oct 29th could be 2 or 4 bolt main 165 hp 4bbl
v =(flint) 10= (oct) 29 =(29th)txb=conv.cab truck the other number must be partial vin number. casting number says it is a 350 used in many applications from 69 thru mid 70's... Mike

Guess I'll have to drop the pan to find out if it's a 4 bolt. Thanks for all the info though, that helps.

The cast numbers on the back of the engine 3970010 usually mean that the engine is a 4-bolt main motor.
