View Full Version : Trans ID Greg P Aug 6th, 01, 06:08 AM I need help with identity of a transmission I took out of a 68 camaro with no engine. It appears to be a three speed with the following numbers on it. On pass side of tail section #8860042 or#8880042 and GM 47.On the middle section before the bell housing,pass side GM 44, K227 and #3925847 and drivers side possible #3919386 (partially obliterated) and K4370. any help will be appreciated..thanks Greg P. ------------------ Denny B Aug 6th, 01, 02:37 PM greg, the only thing I can find for you is the "K" means it was built in the McKinnon plant. The pad says it's a Saginaw 3 speed, built 68 model year, November 29th. It would have gone behind anything from a L6 to a 327. I think the SS350 got a different 3 speed, but I don't recall for sure. ------------------ Kurt S.
