I purchased a power steering unit that was supposed to be for my 67 coupe. The interchange manual I have does not even list the part number. Can anyone help? The bolting pattern seems to match up, however this unit has for bolt holes and my old manual unit has only three. The PSU has numbers on the end and on the core.
The End Number: 7800715
Core Number: 5691676

Unless you asked specifically for one that matched the #'s on your 67', you didn't get ripped. There a slew of makes and models that will bolt up no problem, and the 4th hole you are talking about is no big deal. I just did a conversion from manual to power steering, and I kinda wondered about that extra hole myself. Didn't make any difference. I don't know what yours originally came off of, but it should work without problems.....Maybe someone else can look up the #'s and let you know.....KZ

I am not interested in matching numbers, so if it fits I'm happy. However it would be nice to know where the unit came from. I am journaling my rebuild and would like keep track of where the parts came from. Any complete interchange books out there?

There should be a date code on the top cover. There is a raised square on one side near the engine and I think a julian date code with a space and a single digit year code.
I have a 67 box that was a dealer installed option. It's marked 216--6 The "6" signifies 1966.
Top cover cast number 5689023 I have a 69 box that is a lower cast in number.
The box casting number is 5691676, same as yours so I think you are close. My 69 box has the same cast number, I think that number is used through most of the 70's.
