I have an 67 RS with the U29 courtesy lighting option. Just what does that consist of? Is it the two lights under dash or are there more lighting somewhere else? Any help would be greatly appreated. Thanks Jerry

Thanks Jerry Vintage 68 Aug 12th, 03, 07:14 AM I have always seen the lamp RPO's listed separately on window stickers, instead of in a group. So I've come to believe in 1967 the Light Options were ordered individually, so if you have RPO-U29 it is just the underdash lights. If your car has Custom interior it would also have a Glove Box Light included. Any other lights would have been ordered individually. There is a discription in the 1967 Camaro Literature of a "Auxiliary" lighting group, but I've never seen the RPO code for it in any listings. My 67 had Astray, Hood and Underdash lights and the Glove Box light, as it was a Custom Interior, but it did not have a Trunk Light. In 68/69 the RPO-ZL9 Light Package was available which included the extra lights, dependant on the interior ordered. Hope fully JohnZ, Mark or others that know for sure if there was a 1967 RPO Code for a complete lighting package can chime in and set me straight on my thinking. stingr69 Aug 12th, 03, 03:45 PM There were sail panel lights included for 67 coupes only with the 67 U-29 courtesy light option. U-29 courtesy lights were available for all 67-69 Camaros. The Auxilliary lighting group Z-J9 included a laundry list of lighting including the U-29 stuff but what was specificaly included depended on coupe/convert and std/deluxe interior. -Mark. 67ss350camaro Aug 13th, 03, 04:22 AM There were sail panel lights included for 67 coupes only with the 67 U-29 courtesy light option. This is not quite true. The sail panel lights were only part of the Deluxe interior package. Had nothing to do with the U29 option. Vintage 68 has it correct, the U29 option is just the under dash lights. For 67 there was no group ordering code for the lights, but on the order sheet they could be ordered in "groups", but were still just individual options on the window sticker. Ocala67RS Aug 13th, 03, 11:56 PM Thanks Guys, I have all the orig wiring harness out and either replacing them or fixing the others. I had the hood and trunk courtesy lights, but did not know if there was one for the ash tray. The car is a deluxe car and it has the sail plane lights and it has the glove box light, I was more concern about the ash tray. Thanks again Jerry Mark C Aug 14th, 03, 04:19 AM Ash tray light is U28, Glove compartment light is U27, hood light is U26 and trunk light is U25. Auxiliary Light group in 68/69 that all of these lamps in one package was ZJ9. elcamino Aug 14th, 03, 07:05 AM U23 - Ignition lock light U25 - Luggage comparment lamp U26 - Underhood lamp U27 - Glove compartment lamp U28 - Ash tray lamp U29 - Instrument Panel Courtesy Lights U46 - Lamp monitoring UF1 - Map lamp UF3 - Map light Not all of these options pertain to Camaro's |
