It's an Indy 500 Pace Car replica, so noted by the Z11 trim code. All were Dover white SS-RS with orange striping and with orange interior.

Pace cars are also not specifically covered here in detail; they will be separately discussed in more detail in a separate web site page to be forthcoming. The 1969 Z11 Pace car was a special package that consisted of a SS convertible with ZL2 cowl hoods, D80 spoilers, Z28-style rally stripes, 50A exterior color, and 720 interior. A Z10 "Pace coupe" regional promotion additionally allowed a vinyl top (or not), and one of the black interior colors could be selected in place of the orange houndstooth, but the Z10 included the other Z11 features.

Don't fret over the orange interior it actually looks good with the white and orange paint. Just an fyi, you can expect the value of your car to be $5,000 - $10,000 more than most other like condition convertibles.

I was in a hurry when I looked at your answear,so forgett my qestion about the location of the numbers.The numbers thatI found on the engine is#3955272 and TO118.One problem is that i canīt get under the car because itīs standing in my garage with a lot of things around it http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gifBy the way the shifter is manufactured by HURST.

The T0118 was stamped on the front engine pad? If so, there should be 2 letters after it.

I think there is a J after TO118 and maybe a B or E,the area is really hard to read.

JB would work. 396/325hp 4speed. But that date (Jan 18) is a bit early for your car. You should look for a partial VIN by the oil filter.
Also, use scotchbrite pads and clean up the engine pad and the #'s should be clearer.

Let us know what you find for trans and rearend codes.

Now am I sure about the JB code,does that mean that the engine is correct but not matching # according the built day?I will try to get under the car to locate the other numbers.

Rear axle codes: BM 0323 G
Transm. P9C16A 9N635009. I couldnt find the VIN # on the engine.

The axle stamp says it's a 3.31 non-posi, built on March 23rd at the Chevy Gear & Axle plant. The trans stamp says it was built at Muncie on March 16, 1969, as an M-20 wide-ratio trans. The other stamp on the trans is the VIN derivative from your car, so the trans is the original one it was built with.

No, deluxe belts were not part of the Z11 option. Deluxe belts were not even part of the deluxe interior. They had to be ordered seperately.

All the Z11 got your was a white convertible RS/SS with a white top, an orange houndstooth interior, Zl2 hood, D80 spoilers, orange pn stripes over the wheelwells, and orange Z28 stripes. In the case of a car with a big block it also kept the rear tail panel and rocker area body colored, not black. Anything else on the car had to be ordered as an option.

Could be because the actual GM Product bulletin dated Feb 4, 1969 says Z11 consists of:
Camaro SS/Rally Sport
with exceptions:

Add Hood and Deck Lid Orange Stripes, same as used with RPO Z28

Body sill to be painted white instead of black

Rear panel to be white instead of black, as specified with 396 V-8 engine options

Remove sport striping (Reference D90)

Add hugger orange fender striping (reference D96, part of Z22)
Exterior body color, Dover White, code 911

Custom Interior, RPO Z87
with exceptions:
Orange Houndstooth cloth trim, Code 720
