: COPO?
JUNKPIECE200 Oct 3rd, 00, 06:17 PM I HAVE A 69 CAMARO WITH A X44 TRIM TAG CODE. THE REAR END HAS BE STAMPED IN IT WITH 4.10 GEARS. IT HAS A BIG BLOCK HEATER CORE AND A MUNCIE 22.THE MOTOR IN IT NOW IS A 327. IT ALSO HAS FRONT DISC AND REAR DRUMS.ITS INTERIOR CODES ARE IVORY WITH A DUSK BLUE EXTERIOR.IS THERE ANY WAY THAT I CAN FIND OUT IF IT IS A COPO FOR SURE?
Bob Jenkins Oct 3rd, 00, 06:23 PM Post the VIN and trim tag info so we can see
when it was built, options, etc......
JUNKPIECE200 Oct 3rd, 00, 06:40 PM THE VIN IS 124379N668711 TRIM TAG ST69 12437 NOR309193 BDY 51 51 PAINT TR 727 07A . LET ME KNOW OF ANY OTHER THING THAT WILL HELP... THANKS
JOE58 Oct 3rd, 00, 11:32 PM Does it have a 140 speedo or a curved neck radiator? It can be a COPO without these two items but if it has them its a good sign. Can you find any other numbers on the rear or trans? Look for the other big block signs such as fuel lines and exhaust hangers. What is the history of the car?

Kurt S Oct 4th, 00, 04:19 AM Joe got it right.
The #'s off of the rear and trans would be the most important info.
Size of fuel lines?
Does it have a plate welded to the driver's side rear frame rail with 2 holes in it? It is 2" high and 5" long and is located 3" rearward of the shock. It is visible behind the rear tire if you are standing at the rear tire.
Can you confirm the NOR #?
Thanks!

CA420 Oct 4th, 00, 07:11 AM Try looking on top of the right axle tube. Mine is stamped there but is not the original 12 bolt. I did have to use a small screw driver to trace out some of the numbers and letters due to all the paint and it was not stamped very well.

Jeff H Oct 4th, 00, 03:56 PM Does it have the D80 for spoilers next to the X44? The only X44 D80 cars I've seen or heard of were COPO's.

JUNKPIECE200 Oct 4th, 00, 06:03 PM the nor # is nor369193 i read it wrong the other day. it has a 120mph speedometer and a 7000 rpm tach with a 6000 red line. it has no factory ac. it has center console gauges.the trans # are 19n668711 ,p9d30c, 3925660.the trans has a filler plug and a drain plug.the rearend code is BE 0620g1.it is a 12 bolt. the fuel line is 3/8 in diameter, it has the ZL2 cowl induction hood.i dont see a metal plate welded to the frame, but there is a plate about 4 inchs to the right of the frame that is welded with 2 holes in it.i dont think the radiator is the original one..it has no factory power steering.
JUNKPIECE200 Oct 4th, 00, 06:07 PM there is no d80 next to the x44 on the trim tag.
JOE58 Oct 5th, 00, 01:39 AM You should e-mail Ed Cunneen.
here is his web site http://www.copo.com/
Kurt S Oct 5th, 00, 09:18 AM Everything sounds like a COPO. M22 was only available on a solid lifter car.
But I'm not sure what you mean about the bracket mount on the frame rail. The frame rail is several feet long and this plate should be on it near the driver's side shock. And it should have 2 holes in it.
