Can I use both the Comp Engeneering kit to relocate the shocks and Cal-Tracs without having one of them interfere with the other? I want to make sure of this before I buy them. Will any special fabrication be needed?

The Cal Tracs come with there own shock mounts welded to the bottom spring retaining plate. Why do you need to move your shock location? I have Competion Eng frame connectors and Cal Tracs but left shocks in stock location on my second gen.

Does Cal Tracs have a web site? I can't find it.

Thanks,

Kyle,

YES!! I have the Competion Engineering SHOCK relocation mount and I just bought a set of CAL-TRACS for my 67. I just told them that I want the lower shock mounts to be in the back and inside of the axle houseing, I also have C/E's subframe connecters.

I have not installed the Cal-tracs yet because I am going to do some track testing and comparisons.

Not to get off topic, but what do you guys think of the cal-tracs? I was thinking of dumping my slappers for a set, but I am already pulling 1.53 60 foots. I am building a bigger motor, so I figured traction would again become a problem.

Mark,

I am going to find out which ones have a performance advantage as soon as I get my new motor into the car. My current set up is C/E "J" bolt traction bars with monroe basic replacement shocks, 5 leaf (one removed now 4) springs, and C/E sub-frame connectors. With this set-up the car would pull the left front 4-6 inches and carry it for about 40-60 feet. weight transfer to the rear tires is awsome as the car squats 8 inches in the rear. The car never made a full pass with this set up as I kept having other drive train problems (broken axle, trans and twisted a drive shaft on different passes).
I am going to track test this set up and then switch to Cal-tracs and Hal adjustable shocks and see what happens.
I hope to have this done by October but we have to wait and see.
