Can someone please help me out, I'm tyrying to figure out if this 68 Camaro im looking into is a true SS. I have the Vin # and Trim Plate tag.
vin #-124378L301550
Trim Plate Tag-
09A C177
ST 68 12437 LOS 01310BODY
TR712 K PAINT

Is there any way else to tell if the Camaro is a Reu SS. Its equipped with Front Disc Brakes, 12 bolt multi-leaf springs, and a quad outlet style vented hood, quick ratio sterring.
The engine block he has in it is a 396ci, and also another 396ci coded MY, he doesnt know which is the original?
SO if anyone could help I greatly appreciate it.

The VIN and trim tag don't answer your question. You'll need to get the #'s off of the engine pads (eg T0809MY).
This isn't much to ask and I'd get it from both blocks. Also find out if there is another set of #'s stamped on the pads (the partial VIN).
If he can get the # off of the rear axle tube, that would prove if the axle was original (but doubtful he is that capable from the looks of the ad).
