They say that it is a 68 because it was restored in 1968. That makes my Camaro a 93-03 Camaro. Very rare indeed.

It's a non A/C car but has astro vent balls in the dash. It has a 68 Deluxe interior but no trim around the dash pad which is also 68. It has side markers and 68 tail light bezels. The trim tag says 67.

Why would someone do this? I bet the car was stolen or a parts car and was rebuilt from a 68. To bad it has lost it's identity. I would have to say Buyer Beware on this one.

It looks like a nice in the pictures, too bad.

That car is a 68. I wonder what the dash looks like ?? Like where the 68 VIN used to be. I saw the vents too. Even a 68 cloner would not have done that. I bought a 68 in So. Cal a couple years ago that was titled as a 67. It still had the 68 VIN in the dash covered by a dashpad. Pulled the 67 VIN out of the door jamb and it became a registered 68.

Hey you guys got me wondering... Whats the deal with the astro vents in a 68?! Are they not supposed to be in a non-ac car? If not, I've got concerns...

My 68 has Astro w/o ac.

I asked a few questions and this is the answer. Someone I know was interested in this car but it not worth it with all the inconsistencies.

GReetings and thanks for your inquiry.

I do not know the history on the car other than it did belong to a casino manager or owner who presented it to his wife for their 25 aniversery. She could not drive the shift and was getting arthritis and could not learn. This info was verified by the Califonia Highway Partol.
I cannot verrrify any of the Trim and options. If you're looking for "originality" with "papers" your're going to pay a whole lot more than 25K...probably closer to 35K-40K for a car in this condition.
The tags seem origg but like I said, it should be white...NO white anywhere on car. The car has NO blue tag....that meens it NOT a salvage or piece car. It was apprised for 28K in December by a professional appraiser.
Any more questions, please email.

The 68 I had did have asto and no A/C. I have been told it was an option but not to my knowlage.

BTW:
The story about this car sounds bogus. There is no way to verify if it was a rebuilt wreck or a parts car if it was never reported as such to insurance. Could have been easy to do if it was never reported. That's why I never reported one of mine when it was considered a total. I knew it could be fixed it would just take the right person to do the job, then when it's done it's not a rebuilt salvage car.

BTW guys I am talking about a 69 Chevelle I had that was vandlised very badly, the body was beat to hell, no worse than replacing a completely rusted body on car.

A friend of mine bought a 69 Camaro convertible on Ebay. Turned out to be a 67 with all the 69 parts added. You couldn't tell it was a 67 until we found it didn't have staggered shocks then we looked harder for other clues and figured the mystery out!

Now days, you got to be suspicious of everyone that is for sale. A vast majority are in it for the money and only the $$.. They will do anything to make it look good and sell it. Parts is parts to them. They are swapping VIN plats and cowl tags. They see nothing wrong with this, even the so called dealers are doing this. They know people want these cars and will pay big $$$.
