Mark C Sep 10th, 04, 05:52 PM If your refering to the use of X codes, yes it's true. Norwood began consistantly using the X codes in mid December of 1968. LA never did use any codes to designate trim or performance packages. ss dave Sep 10th, 04, 06:22 PM Thanks Mark. Yes I was refering to the X code designation and I believe my car is a Norwood built 69. HawaiianCamaro Sep 10th, 04, 07:02 PM Originally posted by ss dave: Thanks Mark. Can you give us the cars tag info also if you dont mind. Cowl and VIN? Nantooch Sep 12th, 04, 02:58 PM Mark, in the absence of the X code on early 69's how would you otherwise determin if the car was a Z or not, barring looking at the motor? ss dave Sep 13th, 04, 06:17 AM OK, HiC, Here it is. Please decipher. Thanks ST 6912467 NOR107772 BDY TR 723 57A PNT 09C VIN.# 124679N510163 jannes_z-28 Sep 13th, 04, 06:49 AM It is built in Norwood. Body number 107772 The VIn says it should be a V8 convertible. Built in the third week of September 1968 Interior should be Midnight Green and you would have Fathom Green paint with a White convertible top. That is what can be read from your trim tag. Jan ss dave Sep 13th, 04, 07:36 AM Jan, Thanks. What does Fathom Green look like? Any references? hugger_sixty_nine Sep 13th, 04, 08:13 AM Dave, There are many good sites around with photo's on them. I also have a Camaro site dedicated to restorations of 69 cars. Take a look at the visitors rides pages of my site as there are a few Fathom Green cars on my site that you can reference. Two in the RS Z/28 section, one is the z/28 section and another nice one under coupes. The web site address is http://www.x33d80.com and when you pass the intro select visitor rides from the navigation bar. ss dave Sep 13th, 04, 06:14 PM WOW that is one Fricking site! When my SS rag is done I'll let you know. Good job! elcamino Sep 14th, 04, 04:11 AM 1969 PAINT CHIPS (http://autocolorlibrary.com/cgi-bin/search/searchpic.pl?1969-chevrolet-pg01.jpg) |
