My 69 was a single exhaust, and if I remember correctly, the pass side has weld nuts welded inside the frame, and was not reinforced.
I used well nuts, to install my driver side exhaust. If I remember correctly, there were two small holes in the frame, which I enlarged to fit the well nuts. Now I'm beginning to question the sanity of going that route. I'm thinking I should duplicate the reinforcement plate, and install it in place of the well nuts.
Was the driver side reinforcemnet plate tapped and threaded, or maybe have weld nuts welded to the inside of the reinforcement? If weld nuts, Were the small holes in the frame, pilot holes which would be enlarged to accomodate the weld nuts? What are the dimensions and guage of the reinforcement. Should the reinforecment plate be tack welded, or continuous. I know that's a lot of questions; thanks for the response.
