Hi i was wondering if any one cares to comment on ebay #4513117504, a May 22/69 VO527DZ Block.
My block is stamped the same day but my 5 and 7 are different, and i was wondering if GM used different fonts ever. I also have a picture of a VO528DZ block and the 5 is the same as mine.
It would seem to me that the Flint plant would use the same holder and characters on that day? or did they have several sets of holders and stamps, and could the 5 & 7 be different?
By the way my block is cast E 21/9 so the casting date lines up close on the ebay block.
Maybe Mark C. or others could add to this post?
Thanks in Advance. graemlins/beers.gif

I say restamp.

Thanks Jonesy,
Kinda what i was thinking as well, the pad appears to have no grain, almost looks like it has been sandblasted, or shotblasted.

Looks like a restamp. Heres the Ebay one.

Flint only made about 60 DZ blocks a day. The gang holder for the pad stamp was loaded with the appropriate characters at the beginning of the day and the same stamp was used on all of them all day long.

Thanks Mark, Thats what i thought, but comparing it to digital pictures of my stamp ( which i think you have) i totaly missed the D and the 2. You are 100% correct the 7 and the 5 are easily noticeable, you have to look real close to see the slight differences in the 2 and the D.

You are the MAN! graemlins/beers.gif
