Hi, I got a V8 in my Camaro, the block casting is 3956618, I searched the web, and many books and some say its a 302, others say its a 327, the Suffix is FC and the block is dated as 1969. Its got double hump heads dated 1965, the casting is 3782461, the heads could be 202s or 194s... I am confused... Is this a 327 or a 302, and what type of heads are they? What type of car used the FC suffix? Please Help...

FC for 1969 in my "Chevy V-8 Engine Code Guide" has only one option. It is a 327/235hp with a 2 barrel carb, and TH350 trans. It went into passenger models. These would typically be impala/caprice models. Sorry, not a 302.

Other listings for FC were for the 55-57 years (265 or 283ci).

Thanx, That's what I thought, a 327V8, so what about the cylinder heads? How do I determine the valve sizes, without having to remove them and physically measuring their size? Head Casting # 3782461

i have a canadian nova a pontiac acadian ss 350 300hp muncie 21 3:73 12 bolt power disc brakes dark green with black bench seat interior everything looks factory to me i was just hoping some one could tell me if it is a real ss vin 714270W229596 trim 741 48 48 paint build date 01B m2 and number on top of cowl tag ST7071427WRN170798 if any one can figure out these canadian codes it would be greatly apreciated thank you

You should be able to contact GM of Canada and give them the VIN and they'll send you documentation showing all the options originally on the car.

461 heads came both ways - no way to tell without pulling them and measuring.
