: 1970 Camaro Cowl Tag Info - Help Decoding

Hi all
Thanks Tom for that info. Here is all the info that I could read on the cowl tag. I may have missed a few numbers or letters (indicated by the ... but this was all that was visible - there was a paint build-up on the tag closest to the top right hand side.
Here goes.
ST 70 12487 NOR 3230 ... BD (a "D" or a "C")

TR 713 6565 ... PM (I think it was "PM")

08 A Z28 10

That is all I could make out. Thanks for your help in my adventure, especially you, Tom.

12487=8 cylinder
NOR=Norwood, Ohio Plant
3230??=sequential body number
BDY=body
TR=interior trim
713=black/white custom cloth
65 65=Hugger orange paint
PNT=paint
08A=build date, August 1st week
Z28.10=RPO Z28 with white stripes

A true Z car will have the floor mounted gas pedal. Just another conformation. I have owned several.

It will also have a 6500 redline tach and a rear sway bar w/the mounts welded to the rear frame rails. Looks legit based on your tag. They are great running cars.
