OK. I know nothing about camaro's, i'm a mustang guy, but i am doing this for my stepmom, since i also like camaro's. Today i wrote down some numbers off her '75, i would like to know if anyone can decode them or tell me what they mean.
The VIN is 1Q87H5N559950
This stuff was on a sticker on the driver's door.
GVWR 4746 GAWR FRT 2336 REAR 2416
All that was on a sticker that was below another sticker, not sure what it said.
If this is not the stuff that tells the car's options, then could someone tell me where to look on the car for that info? I don't know where to look.
All i know is that it's a 1975 sports coupe.
Like i said, all i know about is 64.5-73 mustangs.

Damon:

"This stuff was on a sticker on the driver's door.
GVWR 4746 GAWR FRT 2336 REAR 2416 "

The GVWR is the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating - or how much the car is rated to carry if fully loaded (passengers, luggage, pets, beer &etc...) = 4,746 Lbs (over 2 1/2 Tons!). The FRT is the Front rating and REAR is the Rear rating - tire installers must be sure tires are rated above these numbers.

"If this is not the stuff that tells the car's options, then could someone tell me where to look on the car for that info? I don't know where to look".
The Trim Tag is located under the hood on the firewall on the drivers side near the brake booster. List all the numbers in the orders they appear and we can tell you the date built, style, interior type and color
Try also looking on the Trunk Lid for a fairly large printed sticker with lots of letters/numbers on it. If no sticker look in the Glove Box - may be here. If the car has been repainted the sticker is often removed and tossed. The numbers on the sticker will give you the RPO-codes (Option numbers) that the car was equiped with when built. You can then decode by posting back or going to the links for second gen. cars listed on the Home Page Links site.

Hope this helps - and quit using the "M" word here :D

Hey, thanks for the help. I'll check that out this weekend and post back in a mew post.

And, I'll try to quit saying the "M" word here, since i have tried to stop saying the "C" words on the Vintage Mustang Forum. I know i'll get ragged on bad for that one, but this and that forum are equal in the amount of info availible for the separate cars. I have to have the info for my Stang. I'll just say stang - it's not an "M" word. Can i please keep "Mustang in my Sig?
lol. I DO look upon both cars as equals though.

Equals? Wellllllllll...... ;)

I actually got queezy seeing that word so many times in just one thread. Please make it stop!!

Damon, there's another site you might be interested in that'll cater more towards a '75. Check out www.nastyz28.com (http://www.nastyz28.com) They're the Second Generation Camaro Owners Group.

Thanks for the link, i had heard of that place but never been there. I do try to keep it down, with the word, but, ROTFLMAO, when i read that the 75 350 only got 145 HP, well, icouldn't help myself. I had to splurge. Don't get me wrong, i love that car and it has some serious get-up-and-GO, but my stock 2 bbl 289 makes 200 HP. But, then again, i guess it was at the height of gov't intervention and the fuel crisis. I'll cut down on word usage, i'm just not used to this site yet. I've been at the VMF for 4 months, and i'm not quite uaed to all Camaro talk. I love it, though .
