i'm trying to get some info on my 1969 camaro.
my vin is 124379N601292
the plate under the hood has the following codes
ST 69 12437 NOR260733BDY
TR 711 71 BPNT
02B X55
it is currently wearing Z-28 badges which i am sure are incorrect, but a previous owner believes that it was an SS car?
I would appreciate any info on this car.

Also i'm trying to get some info on putting a 6 speed GM transmission from a 90' firebird
into my car and I'm getting mixed answers on if it will fit or not
Currently I have a '79 or '80 350 with a muncie 4 speed trans,12 bolt posi rear.

Thanks for any info you can provide.

your car decodes as having a std. black int., Lemans Blue, built 2nd week of February '69, and X55= SS350. Chris

Thanks for the info, but I'm curious
does the X55 code mean that the the car is an SS or that it just had the SS engine?
In other words should,or did it have SS emblems on the car?

The X55 code means that it WAS an SS car complete with 350 engine. Sounds like a nice car.
