I remember this one from on ebay and at 2001 Carlisle. Nice car!

No idea on the carb, unless it's the 79th day of 1977.....

Let me know if you get the trans codes (on a tag on the pass. side) or any others.

Thanks.

The "0" at the beginning of the carb number is odd. It states a '69' year carb, but shouldn't have the "0"..maybe a 79.

New bellhousing on a TH400?? That doesn't make any sense, unless it has an entirly new case...

According to my interchange book this 7029207 0797 could be from several sources, all 1968 models with manual trans.

Chevelle 327-325HP
Corvette 327-350HP
Corvette 350-350HP
Nova 327-325HP

The AC Delco PN is 24-381

I'm so confused with this number, what are the odds that this is the original carb?

also, the "9" in 7029207 should indicate the year, is this the model year or manufacturing year? if so how can this be for a 68 car?

my car is a 396/325 hp

I'll take any #'s you can find. Alternator and distributor dates / codes, seat belts, etc.
Let me know what you find on the tag on the side of the trans.
You can email me off-line at KurtS2@peoplepc.com if you want.

Kurt, have a partial alternator #.

???3050 (i think) 37A
8H (or M) -12VNEG - "H" would make more sense.

Can't really see w/o taking the alternator off, so this is a best guess for now.

I looked it up in CB#'s, my car is A/C and smog, would this originally have a 37A alternator or a 61A? Also could not find any part numbers with ...3050 on the end.

More Numbers...

Transmission: 280
73 CJ 12590
Doesn't look original, so what is it from?

Block casting date: H or E 7_8

Right Exhaust manifold: 3916178 T
GM RH 4

Do I need to pull the distributor to get the number from it?

thanks

69ssl48,
it no wonder im confused on this carb, thats at least 3 different books that it is referenced in and easily the same in applications.. argh!!!! What is consistant is the fact that it is for a 350 engine and not a 396.

Kurt,
Dont know if you want these or not, but i figure that i'll post them anyway.

Water Pump Pulley - 3947824DV

Fan Clutch - 05219049, this is stamped in ink, looks to new to be original.

Tag on radiator, welded on fins on pass side upper right:
Canada
3R 10187
29 51 94

Whats your take on these numbers?
Could the car be from canada? are there any other signs to look for

The pulley is actually a L78 part. ??
Original radiator should have been built by Harrison in NY. I'd say this is a GM replacement built in Canada. Never seen a factory rad with any tags on the fins.

The tanks are "Harrison" and marked as I've been told they should be.
Took the rad. to a shop today for a fixin, and was told that the tanks are original, but it has been re-cored.

any value in swapping the L78 pulley for the correct one?

Kurt, just an update. Spoke with 2 other people about my car, the fun of trying to find history on it. The brother of the owner and the mechanic that did alot of work on the car over the years (they had it since 82). Both individually confirmed what the owner told me about the trans. They were servicing the tranny and it fell off the stand, cracked the casing. Instead of putting a new trans in, they decided just to put a new housing and keep all the original internals. Now I'm trying to find the prior to 1982 owner, this hsould be fun.
