Supposed 68 SS 350 Camaro convertible with VIN#124378N314765. 37 represents a 2 door sport coupe according to Colvin's book. Can it also mean a convertible? Please advise. Thank you in advance, Russ

Look at the cowl tag on the firewall, it should also start with ST 68-12467 (convertible) and with that VIN would probably be a third week of September (09C) 1967 built car. There is also a partial VIN under the cowl panel where the passenger side windsheild washer tube goes across the top of the cowl. Willing to bet it's a swapped VIN car. Reason I ask is I may know of it - I saw a red 'conversion' SS-350 car at the Bently Cruz-in show in '98. The owner at the time admitted it was a coupe converted to a ragtop. Although I asked to see under the hood, I was looking at the mill (looked nice and original) and didn't make note of the cowl tag. |
