i am looking at a 69 Z/28 i think it's a clone i have the numbers off the fire wall tag # st 69 12437 vn262651 tr711 65 65 bdy pnt f627 can anybody help me with this?

The car you are looking at is an LA built '69 Camaro. There is no way to tell if it is a Z or not from the tags.

Could you post the VIN off the car? Also, the build date off the trim tag (01A, etc.).

How many fuel lines coming up from the tank?
How many leafs in the rear springs?
4spd car? It shouldn't have A/C.
Front Disk brakes? Power?

I believe the "tr" number you have indicates black standard interior trim, vinyl buckets, the "65" indicates the body color of the car, upper & Lower, was Olympic Gold.

thanks for your reply steve & gambler, i will get the vin # on tuesday.build date code is 02b, has a 4-speed,front power disks,302 with 2 4-barrels. if you can think of anything else to look for let me know befor tuesday thanks alot,bryon also car is lite blue with white stripes and has all of the Z/28 and 302 emblems

Check # of fuel lines, # of leafs in the rear springs, and for a dual exhaust hanger plate on the drivers side rear frame rail. It is around 2"x4.5" and is welded to the frame.

Car must have a 12-bolt rear.
