I have a 67 floor shift car. Which way do the wires that come off of the neutral safety switch go back to the fuse box. My wireing was missing. does it go down the tranmission channel or does it go back up and under the carpet?
thanks

The wires go back to the fuse block. The two purple ones are the neutral saftey switch the pink and the green are the backup lights. The shifter has a short wire lead with connector. There is a wire harness that will take it back into the underdash wiring and up to the dash keyed switch. Check out one of the aftermarket parts guys, Ground Up, Ricks, Year One. They all sell a "Painless Wiring" harness.
The wiring in my 67 does not go under the carpet. It is clipped to the underside of the console and runs toward the firewall.
If you need any pics of this let me know by email john.knotts@uniqema.com. As you might have seen from some of the postings today, I have a Neutral saftey switch issue I am dealing with and have this part of my car including the wiring exposed.
Good luck with yours.
