Driver side, behind cylinder head # 3849852.
When I bought this car I was told it was a 327 (heck, it has the 327 emblems on the fenders), but I measured the bore at 4 inches and the sroke at 3 inches which = 301.5936 (using the formula Displacement = .7854 * bore squared * piston travel * # of cylinders)which I guess would make it a 302. Are there any other numbers I can look for? Thanks.

This block is a 283ci with Chevelle & passenger car applications in 1965 & 1966. I believe you could bore a 283 out to 4", but someone here should have more insight.
