I have a 1968 Camaro with what I thought was a Chevy 350 motor out of a 1982 Chevy pick up truck. I recently pulled the motor out of the car to do a rebuild and was told that since the dipstick was on the driver's side the motor was not made between 1980 and 1985. the casting number is: 3970014 and the partial VIN on the front of the motor is 13B644212. Can anyone help tell me what motor I have here. I would like to rebuild it but I don't want to order all the wrong parts. Thanks for any help you can provide

It is a 350 2 bolt main used from 1968-1976

Thanks for the info 3DUDE hopefully it will keep me from having to send stuff back to Summit. The motor appears to have come from the factory painted blue. Does that shorten the time frame? Where would I go to look this up myself? Thanks again for the help
