that's right. V0123DZ is the engine code saying it was built Jan 23(01 23). you posted your trim tag as a 01c so it was a jan 3 rd week car. the x33 that you posted here shows it to be a Style Trim Group with Special Performance Equipment (Z28). most the times the motors were a little older than the cars (mho), but i guess they just stuck a "fresh one" in your car at the assembly line. maybe just how they were shipped or production had slowed over the xmas holidays?. anyway from your other post and this one, it sounds like you have the real mccoy. had a frien that had a dusk blue/white stripes/ blackstd. interior. very pretty, i bet the ivory looks good too. post a pic sometimes if you can in the bench racing section. post any other ?'s about the trim tag or #'s here.

sobadiam,
Did you get a chance to look at the casting date? That should be dated before the assembly date. In a previous thread you mentioned that this could be a block that was cast in March. The assembly date stamps can be easily faked.

That engine date looks right (it is real tight to the body, but they were running close that month), as do the rest of the dates (finally saw your post on 'General Tech').
But you had a concern on the block casting #? Which block do you have?

Also, on the trans, that P9A14 should be stamped with an A, B, or C following it to tell which trans it is. Which letter?

Kurt,
The posting where I got the March info from is: http://www.camaros.net/forum/Forum1/HTML/001570.html
In there he states that he was told an 010 (3970010) casting number block could not have been in a March car. Boomhauer replied that the 010 block wasn't available until April 69. And now he states the this is an 01C car with a VO123DZ assembly date. So I guess my question was getting around to matching the real casting number and casting date to verify the assembly date on the front. He also never mentions the partial VIN, but I suppose it could be on the oil filter area. Only sobadiam can give us the remaining info to give a clue.

From what Ive read in the other thread I beleive what he wants to know is if he put that assy date on his block would it be correct.
