i have a camaro that is without its vin plate, it has been partially stripped but still has alot of parts and i feel it is worth the resto, the only problem is that the whole dash is out of the car which included the cars VIN. is there any tie in between a cowl tag and a vin #? i have the cowl tag still on the car and all the info. please help ! what do i need to do to get a vorrect vin # and also does anyone actually stamp a replacement tag.

Hard question with plenty of ays to go. IMO if it was my car i would get the cowl tag data along with the partial vin on the firewall near the heater and request the locol authorities to come inspect the car to insure that it wasnt at one time stolen. when its verified it was not then request a
new VIN be issued from the state department of motor vehicles.
