I have a 67 RS without the original engine and would like to find out what engine came in it. I guess it was a 327 but can I find out if it was a 210hp or 275 or what? Here's the info.

Thanks for the help.
It looks like you guys are building a database of trim tags and vins. I have a few I could contribute if anyone is interested.
Thanks again for the help.

bruce68, Yes a database is being complied by the CRG folks (Kurt S and Daniel) This helps all of us other 1st gen owners get a better pic of what a car is. It also help in ?'s as to what/where and when/why things were put into production in the different years.
Any info would help

An added bonus of the collection of numbers is that it may help put numbers matching engines back in the cars that they belong to some day. I don't know if this has ever happened yet, but if you collect enough data it is bound to happen.

Sounds cool! Thanks Jeff and Scott, the db is a great idea. I bet it keeps someone kinda busy. From reading other posts it looks like Kurt S. is the keeper of the db.
Well here are the numbers on my 68. It is just a base car but still has the original engine.
04C
68-12437 NOR114950
712 P2
vin 124378N414766
I don't have all the engine numbers on me right now, but the correct vin is on it and it is a ME code block. The trans has been swapped to a TH350. Haven't checked the rear end yet. The engine has alot of miles on it and still has the cables on the mounts. Wasn't sure what was up with the cables at first but did a little research and found out.
Anyway I have a couple more trim tag numbers and can post them when I get the vin #s to go with them.
thanks for the help

Thanks Bruce. Appreciate the data. Let me know on the engine and axle when you get a chance.
