I have a 67 RS/SS, 350/4spd with a quadrajet. The number on the carb is 7026202. The date on the carb lines up okay with the build date of the engine. Question is, is this the right carb for a 4spd.? I did a search, and get conflicting results. Some say that the last number, being an even number, indicates that it is for an automatic trans. car. However, I have some Chevrolet documentaion which dosen't seem to follow this pattern for q-jets. Do I have the right carb.?

I would really expect to see and odd number (3?) at the end of the model number for your car if original. 327's (275hp) and 350's shared the same carb's in 67.
More important is the date of production of the carb. and engine - if they are within std. production variations then maybe it is correct or was swapped early on by a shop. If the engine is a 67 build date then I would expect a 7027 prefix on the carb. with an odd last digit to be correct. There are quite a few cars out west that are 7037 prefixes due to the A.I.R. systems for CA and high altitude.

Thanks Vintage
I noticed that the numbers I was looking at were for replacement carbs, so I guess the odd#/manual trans. is correct.
Does the "6" in 7026202 indicate the calandar year, or the model year? My engine was built early Nov.,('66) and the date on the carb tag is G7. (July,7?)

It indicates the carb. production year '6' = 1966 which is correct or close for a Nov. engine.
If memory serves - there were two or three Rev.s to the carb.s during '67 production.
I used to have a '67 SS350, so I researched this a while back.
