i recently bought a 68 hardtop which was supposed to be a z-28 (i got a good deal on it even if it isn't). it has the original style front discs and multi leaf rear springs. of course all the obvious indicators are long gone (ie the 302, and no protectoplate) and the 68 paint codes are not told the color and standard interior and nothing else. i know that the z's came with the heavier suspension and the quick ratio stearing box. if any one has any other clues for me that would be helpful. regardless of the outcome i'm still geeked to restore my bastard 68

Should be a 4-spd transimssion as automatic wasn't available on the Z. Shouldn't have AC either. Should be power front disc brakes. Four-leaf springs on the back. 12-bolt rear end. Frame rails drilled on left hand side, visible through rear wheel well, for hanging exhaust clamp. Best clue of all would be the air pressure sticker in the glove box. If it's for 15" wheels and it looks like the original sticker, you more than likely got yourself a Z. Yeeha.
