As far as I can tell there were 4 engines sold in in a 1969 SS Camaro 396. The codes I can find is the L-35 (325hp), L-34 (350hp), L-78 (375hp). The last one has the same stats as the L-78 but is a L-89(not sure whats diff.)

How/Where do I tell which 396 engine I have?

L-89 is an Aluminum headed L78. L78/89 came with a single fuel line, L34/35 came with two fuel lines.
