Something's goofy here.
010 casting was used September 69 through 1975 I 26 7 decodes as September 26 1967 (or 1977) Neither is within reported production dates. Are you sure the last number is not a 9, or a 1?
Also, what you are calling the engine build date, looks like a VIN-- L is Van Nuys assembly plant for Camaro. The engine assembly date would probably begin with V for Flint. Look at the numbers again, and post your findings. We'll try to help.

The 010 block was used beyond 1975, at least into 1979.

The 10L518233 looks like a 1970 partial VIN for a Los Angeles built car, but its not a Camaro VIN. Camaro VINs in both Los Angeles and Norwood plants started at 100001 for the 1970 model year.
1= Chevrolet
0= 1970
L= Los Angeles assembly plant
518233= last 6 numbers of vehicle VIN

Mark,
70 Camaros started at 500000. Take a look at the 'Other' sheet in the db.

Totally confused!!! I will take another look tomorrow. Could this be an engine from another GM vehicle??
