: Maple leaf on top of the fuel tank

A few months ago I had the fuel tank out of my 69 Camaro. On top of the tank was a small piece of paper/sticker attached to the tank and on it was a red Canadian Maple Leaf. Can anyone tell me exactly what this means? Does it mean that the car was delivered to Canada?

I remember reading somewhere that GM Canada has some good records of cars sold up there. If that is true, who do I contact to get more info on the car I have?

Thanks for any suggestions!

You might just have a newer gas tank there. Some of the good repro tanks are made in canada. They might have a sticker there to show where it was made.
Post your VIN and cowl tag data in the TAG section of Team Camaro here and you can begin to figure out where your car was built.

I would agree, it just means the tank was made in Canada. Most likely a replacement fuel tank.

Ditto, Sounds like someone replaced the tank. I put a new one in the 69 when I did the frame off and it was made in Canada. Mine was a quality piece but I have heard others complain about the filler neck not being located in the correct position.
