I was looking at some alternator numbers that I have and was checking against CBTN's. Did I read this wrong, or did big horsepower cars have 37amp alternators? Did A/C and A/T have more to do with which alternator came on the car? Kevin

Alternators were chosen based on electrical power requirements, not horsepower.
a 6 cyl with air conditioning would have a 63 amp alternator. A 427 COPO (A/C not available) would have the 37 amp.

Thanks my Tenn. neighbor. From what I could gather from Colvin that seemed to be true. graemlins/beers.gif Kevin

Kevin,
Don't know where Stanley is, but I'm originally from Stanley County (Albemarle)
