One came off my 68 Camaro which had a 67 Vette 327 in it. The number is: 1108371 1F 93

The second one I have had on the shelf for a while. The number on it is: 1107330-3 J 27

1107330 = 1964 Olsmobile V8 starter dated Oct 27, 1963

1108371 could be a over the counter replacement or another GM application such as Olds,Pontiac etc. I cant find that in my Chev books.

If it's been through a rebuilder, all bets are off; when they strip cores, they pay no attention to numbers or dates, just configuration. They rebuild to the configurations that move fastest, and the cases (which carry the numbers and dates) work on just about anything. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

U said it,,,but if you can make one of these starters work with correct nose piece,, go for armature and housing with most winding. other than that you may be using 6 cly stuff on v8
