Need to relook at the Cowl Tag info and the VIN Plate. The trim codes on eht cowl tag you gave dont match anything unless it should be 709-Z. Also just be looking at the VIN will tell you if its a 6 clylinder or V8 car. Take another look at the numbers and post them all back as they are on the tags. Also is there any codes in the option 4 area?? and any codes on the upper right corner of the tag across from the build month codes??

thanks for the quick response. i didnt think the numbers looked right but i am total rookie at this. i dont have the car to look at the info...i am going off numbers given to me by the ebay seller. the vin according the listing is 123677N221719. What does the 3 in the 12367 tell you about the car. Most i have seen have been starting 124. Thanks again.

1 = Chevrolet
2 = Camaro
3 = 6-cylinder engine
67 = convertible body
7 = 1967 model year
N = Norwood, OH assembly plant
221719 = vehicle serial number sequence
Decode for body number: 121576
05C = Built the Third week of May.
67-12467 = Standard Interior Convertible.
NOR = Built in Norwood Ohio.
709 = Standard Gold Bucket Seats.
Z = (A50) Strato Bucket Seats.
T-2 = Lower Color is Capri Cream and the Convertible Top Color is Black.
Options:
2B = (M11) 3-speed floor shifter
3S = (Z23) Interior Decor group
3K = (Z21) Deluxe exterior trim
5B = (V31 & V32) Front and Rear Large Bumper Guards
Assuming the interior code is 709, and color code is T-2 instead of T-T.
Don't even know if a Capri Cream car could have a gold interior. Certainly wouldn't be my first choice of colors.

thank you very much. very interesting to know as this car is now a "SS" with 4 speed manual. 350 engine. So i guess that answers my question- this car did not start life as an SS.
