Hey guys right now i have a open 2.73 rear in my 89 RS and it sucks. I found a rear for sale that the guys say has 3.73s in it. He also stated that someone told him that it might have 4.11s in it. he gave me some numbers off the rear i don't know if they will tell what gear it is or not. could you guys help me out or point me in the right direction.

Tom, I think you will have more luck at this site www.nastyz28.com (http://www.nastyz28.com) They tend to have more members owning 2nd and 3rd generation cars and would likely give you the info you need.

That number is just a foundry casting number and will not tell you the gear ratio.

The code to do that is hand stamped onto the axle tube, area has to be very clean to see the stamping.
