Im confused on which cars the Sport stripes (down the hood and trunk) came on ..I had orginally thought that it was only Z28 cars, but I see lots of pictures of base cars with the sport stripes down the hood and trunk? Also Ive seen SS cars with the Cowl hood with the sport stripes..Did any SS come this way?
Thanks for the help

Sport Stripes were only on Z-28's and Pace cars. I'm sure others will have a better/detailed answer.

thanks I thought i was right...The reason the question came to mind is I was looking on a website called First-Gen.com and it was showing pictures of standard camaros with stripes down the hood and trunks...How confusing can that be!!

The hood/deck lid striping was included with '67-'69 Z/28, '69 Z10 and Z11. It was never optional.
You're correct, it seems every 1st gen now has Z/28 stripes, spoilers, ducted hood.

William--- all the more reason I am staying with a flat hood and the Bumblebee nose strip on my 68 RS (no spoilers)

I believe they are both pace cars, one a coupe and the other a convertable if my memory still works.

Exactly what a Z10 is has been a lively topic on this forum. Often refered to as a pace car coupe, there is no factory documentation to back the claim. The Z10 option is described on factory documentation as "Special Accent Striping." The Z11 option is described as "Indy 500 Pace Car Accents." In the option index in the assembly manual Z11 is titled "Indy Sport Convertible", Z10 is not listed.
No Z10s are known to have been at the race or used for promotional purposes.
Z10s were built only at Norwood for a short period, late April to early May.
Z10 appears to be no more than an SS-RS with special paint.

The Z10 was not publicized by Chevrolet and the code only appears on the window sticker and on the trim tag.
And the special paint just happens to look just like the Pace car convertible replicas. http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif
