1 = Chevrolet
2 = Camaro
4 = 8-cylinder engine
37 = coupe body
9 = 1969 model year
N = Norwood, OH assembly plant
503425 = vehicle serial number sequence

Decode for body number: 102463

09A = Built the First week of September.
69-12437 = Coupe.
NOR = Built in Norwood Ohio.
715 = Standard Dark Blue Bucket Seats.
69-B = Lower Color is Cortez Silver and the Vinyl Top Color is Black.

The tag wont tell anything else, such as Z, RS or SS. If you need help, ask anytime.

that build date and vin number indicate an "early" production car. There were subtle changes made during the 69 production run. One of the easiest to tell is the headrest angle of the "early" cars, it follows the seat back angle. The later production cars had a vertical headrest (perpendicular to the ground, does NOT follow the angle of the seat). The kick panel vents are different and the shoulder harness attaching parts on the headliner are different also. IF this car had a factory spoiler, it would be the "narrow", 1968 style - did not go to the edges of the quarter panel. Later in the production run they widened the spoiler so it would "fit" the wider rear quarters of the 69.

IF a standard V8, it would have the 327 engine, not the 307 that was introduced later in the production run.

Enjoy the hottest Camaro year if you get it.
