HawaiianCamaro Aug 13th, 03, 12:13 AM 2g 3k not much to go on, Whats the VIN and the rest of the Cowl Tag info?
67ss350camaro Aug 13th, 03, 03:03 AM We would like to see all of the tag info and the vin# to see what you have, but I would say that your car had a 3-speed in it originally.

gunny Aug 13th, 03, 03:50 PM ya thats what i was thinking, but checking the cowl tag dosnt offer any clue..or is that that kinda typical of the cowl tags back then?
HawaiianCamaro Aug 13th, 03, 08:03 PM I would think its a 67 with the option codes you listed. The rest of the tag along with the VIN will tell if it was a V8 or 6 cylinder. Will tell the color/(exterior/interior) and the build date. 67's have the most info on the tags of any 1st gen years. 67/68/69
gunny Aug 14th, 03, 12:22 AM your right the rest of the tags tell ya if its six or eight banger and all that stuff but it doesnt tell me if it was a auto or a manual from the factory....oh well pi$$ on it, see ya on the road

67ss350camaro Aug 14th, 03, 02:33 AM The cowl tag only has info for options that are not standard equipment. This is now fisher body knew how to build the body. The 3-speed was the standard transmission, so it would not show up on the cowl tag. I'm sure that is what was originally in your car.
1967 Panther Aug 14th, 03, 07:45 PM Sounds like a very distraught Camaro owner! He may require C.A.M. Camaro Anger Management! Just think of all those poor kids in Africa who would kill for even a 3rd Generation Camaro, let alone a 67!! :D Just fooling.
It's a strange a console code, but no code 3B for floor mounted 3-speed.
gunny Aug 14th, 03, 08:40 PM yeah thats hilarious, stupid africans..wierd about the console but no auto or 3 speed code on the floor thing though..hey was there a code for the corvette side pipes that were on some of the cars? mine sure would sound sweet with a set ya know....i havent even seen a camaro with them on a very long time....

67ss350camaro Aug 15th, 03, 03:41 AM 3B is not for the floor mounted 3-speed. It is the rear window defogger. 2B would be the code for the floor mounted 3-speed (M11). If you do some research, the M11 option was used for a non console floor mounted 3-speed. It was also mid year introduced, so on the early cars it was not even available. Bottom line, if your car got a console, there was no need for and could not be ordered with the M11 option (2B code on the cowl tag).
1967 Panther Aug 15th, 03, 11:37 AM I meant 2B, sorry.Okay, when you ordered a console of course the shifter was moved to the floor reguardless of which trans, or lack there of was ordered at no additional cost. Thanks
