My nephew just picked up a '77 camaro. He says that the owner told him it's a Z28. Other than stickers on the car, how is this verifiable? :cool:

Are you sure it's a 77? By what I know Chevy did not make Z28's in 75, 76 and 77. Others may be able to verify this but i am almost positive this is true.

Sorry I was wrong, in mid 77 they started producing Z28's again. They made 14,349 of them. Maybe check to see if the car was built before mid model year 77, if it was chances are that it is not a Z28.

I would you suggest checking out this site: www.nastyz28.com (http://www.nastyz28.com) It is pretty much a definative site for 2nd gen camaro's. Click on the 1977 link at the top of the page and find out almost anything you would want on the car. By the way, in 1975 there was just ONE z-28 built! Available in 7 colors, Codes: 11- Antique White, 13- Silver, 19-Black, 51-Bright Yellow, 69-Brown, 75-Light Red & 78-Orange.

IF it is NOT one of those colors, it is not a Z

I'm betting it IS a real 77 Z, plenty (14,349) were made

The Z28's production ended in 1974 and was resurrected in mid year 1977. No z28 production in 1975 or 1976 model year

Yep, one 75Z was made and was believed to be destoryed.
