Hi, I am currently looking at a Camaro that I want to purchase. Before I go ahead and get the chaeck from the bank I want to make sure everything checks out. The guy is advertising it as a 1970 1/2 Camaro z/28 RS. The Vin # is 124870N532724 and the cowl reads as ST 70 12427 NOR266987 BD
TR 711 6565 PNT
04D Z28.10
Please help decode!
Some other additional info that I can provide you with is that the tach goes up to 8000 and begins relining at 6500 and the speedometer reaches 150. He says that when it was new a shop called Bergers put alot of preformance parts on it and therefore it got stuck with the name of Chevrolet Camaro by Berger. I have never heard of that but I am sure it is no big deal anybody with info on a Berger Camaro will be appreciated. Also any info in the cowl and Vin #'s will be very much appreciated also.
Thanks alot
Ryan

elcamino, beat me to it. the 4th week of april build date is correct. FYI Berger Chevrolet is producing a limited edition 2000 SS Camaro with a modified engine producing 375HP! and some suspension and exhaust upgrades.

This car has the same color combo as mine. Hugger orange w/white. (sharp color) Mine is also an RS w/custom sandalwood interior, M-22 & 4.10 rear. Mine was built 2 weeks prior to yours and looks like the Norwood plant got the "Z" stamp fixed by the end of April given your cowl tag info. Many cars built in late March/Mid April are not stamped with a "Z" only the numbers ie: "28.10".
This car wouldn't happen to be the Berger car that was on EBAY a while back?? If so, it had SERIOUS rust damage on the rear frame rails, so be careful. The exterior looked pretty good however.

I saw that car on Ebay. Holy cow did that frame rot out! Be careful if it's the same car. It would probably take a lot of time and money to repair that.

The orange Berger car is back on ebay. The buyer supposedly had big financial problems (or maybe he realized what he was getting into)

I was thinking the same thing about the Ebay car. Man that needed some work on the rails!
My 70 1/2 Z is an LA car numbers matching beast. That LT-1 is a monster!
