Just had to change the original Fuel Pump on my 43,000 mile Z28, and was wondering if any one knows about the stamped #s on the flange? I know that the AC Replacement pumps have the short Delco # on them, the one i put on had the 40987 Number on the box and the flange. My original pump has the Raised AC Logo on the Body and the stamped #s F140669 on the Flange. Also does any body know of a company that rebuilds the original fuel pumps? Thanks in Advance.

It is not safe to rebuild them. A leak would be a disaster.

Mark, Although i appreciate your opinion regarding rebuilts, i still would like to know about the numbers in the flange. Bolt type Corvette Fuel pumps are constantly rebuilt for NCRS Restorations and they do not leak. I have put on many rebuilt type crimped fuel pumps in my 30 years on the bench as a licensed tech and have never had a leaker.
