Hello.
I need a little help decoding an engine currently installed in a 70 Camaro. The car is for sale wrecked/totaled and setting behind a bike dealership near my home. Not too much is left to pick from but the engine, with the Corvette valve covers seems to be interesting enough to fork the $300 asking price for. Here's the info.

Casting #3970010
Front pad V0708TKR
Intake #14014432

Sorry I don't have a casting date for the motor. I was going for it but a swarm of bees convinced me otherwise.

Dave.

Bull!! I found a site with the suffix codes and it looks like a truck motor. Wonder if it's a 4 bolt main? Might be hard to justify the $300 bucks for a motor and 350 trans.

Dude, buy it. The valve covers are from a vette. The intake is a 1980 Vette intake, the block is a truck piece but probably has a 4 bolt main. They used that casting for many years in 4 bolt setups back to 69 up through the early 80's. The tranny comes as a bonus. I could use that stuff or part it out and make a few $$$ if I were you.
