Guys
The 69 Pace car I am working on has a 396 bb with a casting # of 3955272 and a date of C10 9.But, on the front pad where the vin should be there are no numbers. I believe the block has been decked. How bad does this hurt things??

If the block is original to the car, there should find the VIN derivitive on a pad down by the oil filter. It should match the sequential number on the VIN located on the driver dash. Decking would only remove the engine build date and engine code.
