Any recommendations on SB casting numbers books? I'd like to be able to cross some of the parts coming off my Camaro- for instance, I have a distributor that looks to be off a 1970 model car, and a bellhousing that has an unfamiliar number. I have a Chevy Camaro factory part and casting number guide, but it only covers the 67-73 Camaro line.

There are a few out there, some are more complete than others but I have found you need almost all of them to be covered.
But to start, this is a good book
Cars & Parts Magazine Catalog of Chevy V8 Engine Casting Numbers 1955-93 (and stamped numbers)
Available for amazon.com for around $25ish
fyi-I have not seen bellhousing casting numbers in any books.

Here are the numbers:
Bellhousing- 3840383 "GM"
Distributor- 1112005
Flywheel- 366861N "GM1"
Kurt- I looked into Colvins book, and although it was thorough, it mainly deals with main/major engine components..it doesn't have
the variety of numbers I'm looking for.
