View Full Version : Group 4 F???
stevo camaro Dec 5th, 00, 03:32 PM I'm decoding a cowl tag for a friend but can't find what 4F is. I went into CRG and it says D33, mirror remote control? Is this the only 4 group letter that's not an engine designation. Or is it a SS. Here's the complete tag.
67-12437 LOS 20718 BODY
TR 760-Z C-C PAINT
W 2MG 3SL
4F
The S in the group 3, says interior decor group. What is that? Since the 760-Z is standard buckets, what decor group would it have since it doesn't have deluxe interior?
In group 2 the MG is console shifted glide. correct? Oh yea, the build date is O1E. And the W is tinted glass? I do know it is a RS, 3L.
Thanks.

Steve,
Kinda funny they put the remote mirror in group 4 ("F"). I believe an SS would have to be a "P,N or K" (I'm not real good at all these #s)
The RPO Z23 is what the Group 3 "S" refers to if the info I have is correct. Includes bright trimmed pedal pads, bright winshield pillar moldings and bright roof rail moldings.
Your right about the group 2 options and the "W" is tinted windshield. "E" is for all windows tinted...
If I boneheaded any of this maybe one of the numbers guys will let us know!

stevo camaro Dec 5th, 00, 05:31 PM So the S in group 3 option was the outside decor? I thought it said interior decor? Your not pullin on my third leg are ya dennis? http://www.camaros.net/forum/biggrin.gif LOL That is weird they would put remote mirror in group 4 by itself. Never knew that. So the car looks like a RS with white paint, tinted windshield, glide with a console, standard interior, remote mirror, with roof rail drip moldings. Right?
Where's Kurt & Rich at anyway? http://www.camaros.net/forum/biggrin.gif

Ed Ernst Dec 5th, 00, 07:57 PM Body option group 4: F - Remote mirror.
Interior trim (S) consists of chrome pedal trim, chrome WS pillar covers & an interior chrome strip that runs along edge of headliner from the WS pillars above both side windows front to rear.
Steve - I can't get my hand off my own long enough to pull someone elses!!! http://www.camaros.net/forum/rolleyes.gif I think Ed said better what I tried to say!
The gas and brake have chrome trim. The A piller is chrome on the inside instead of vinyl and I don't think I have ever seen the other piece of chrome on the interior... In fact I have seen the A piller chrome in the parts catalog but never on a car!!!

stevo camaro Dec 6th, 00, 07:03 AM Thanks Ed & Dennis. That's what confused me also dennis. I've never seen the chrome around the headliner before either. I have seen the pillars offered in books also but not on a car. I always thought they would be blinding if the sun ever hit them. I know my deluxe wheel reflects the sun like a mirror when it hits it just right. And I've yet to see the headliner pieces offered in books, repo or NOS. I have seen the pedal trim though.
Sorry for the comment dennis, I just have a sick mind I guess. Ex-sailor, and now railroader. We have bad reputations. http://www.camaros.net/forum/biggrin.gif Justifiably so. I think that happens when there is NO female contact at all in the work place, and there are to many sick guy's getting together. http://www.camaros.net/forum/biggrin.gif LOL
jackr Dec 6th, 00, 07:19 AM I have the chrome around the headliner on my 67. It is a nice piece of 1 1/2 " stainless that runs from the pillar moulding to the back window. I have only seen this on one other 67.
The http://www.camaros.net/forum/rolleyes.gif was for my own comment Steve!! http://www.camaros.net/forum/wink.gif Not yours!

Ed Ernst Dec 6th, 00, 11:13 AM The way I knew about the "S" trim code pieces is because my 67 base coupe has only 3 options: a tinted windshield, an AM radio & the interior trim group.

4F is an easy code to remember. Any 4 code is good except F means you got, umm, screwed.
Looks like your friend and R8CTHIS are looking at the same car!

stevo camaro Dec 6th, 00, 03:19 PM Well, what do you know, it is the same guy. I don't think brandon knows I'm on here. http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif We've been corresponding via E-mail about this car. O.K. I'll try to explain it simply, brandons girlfriends father, is a very good friend of mine that I work with. My friends name is dave, but I can't get him on here cause he's so busy. Now dave has some nice camaros also. 73 Z/28, a very nice car, and a 67 RS. The RS I hooked him up with about 3 years ago. It was grandmas grocery getter, 275 H.P. 327, glide, deluxe interior, console, vinyl top, unmolested and stock down to the hubcaps, $3500. If I would of had the cash at the time I'd be driving it. http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif But I know it went to a very good home. http://www.camaros.net/forum/biggrin.gif
