Alright, first off I have a 89 rs with a 305 throttle body. Lately I have been having troubles getting it started, it turns over and acts like it will start but won't go. I usually try to start it 3 times and on the 3 rd it will start up, well tonight I got gas, then tried to start it up, and no fire just kept on turning over but no fire. Well I took off the air cleaner and tried once more and she started up. drove it home with no problems, well I tried to start it up again at home and it won't start. If anyone has an idea on what the problem is please help me out
Thanks

Pick a quiet time to do this, and turn on the key and see if you hear the fuel pump running, It'l stop after 3 seconds, so you have to listen close.
If not, the fuel pump relay might be bad.
Just a shot in the dark.

A good first place to start is also replacing the fuel filter. Easy job and can eliminate lots of gremlins.

How can I hear the fuel pump going, and what does it sound like?

When you turn the key to the "on" position, you will hear the relay click and/or the fuel pump humming/buzzing for a second or two.

You did not say how long you were cranking the motor each time, but if the fuel pump relay fails, you will need to crank the motor unitl it hits about 20-30 psi of oil pressure. Once this happens the oil pressure switch that powers the fuel pump will allow the motor to start. The relay has a brown wire that runs throught the connector on the fire wall and into the fuse panel. Check it for 12 volts. This happens offen in these models.
