Hi Everyone, new user here,

I'm a 16 old who just recently bought a 1998 Camaro Z28 and I was wondering a couple of things. First off do those camaros have a cowl tag, and if so where. And would it be able to tell me what kind of engine I have in it, an Ls1 or an Ls2?

LS2 did not come out till 2005 so it can't be one of those.

1998 Z28 coupes and convertibles had new engines, 305-hp versions of Corvette's aluminum-block LS1 V8. Z28 models included either an automatic transmission or 6-speed manual at no additional cost.

Look in the glove box. There should be a sticker that lists all of the RPO options the car received from the factory. 1998 was the first year the Camaro received the LS1.
