I have a 396 with a code T0211xxw
can someone tell me about this motor.
Also it is stamped Hi Perf on the back
is this a common thing that they did with
these motors?//

T = Towanda engine plant
0211 = February 11th
xxw = ? This doesn't show up for me. One thing that I noticed is that the only suffix's that started w/ x were for 396cu truck engines. Is it possible you read the code wrong? Could you get us the casting number off of the rear, drivers side of the engine.

On a side note, most all big block blocks have Hi-Perf Pass cast into them somewhere. The only heads that say Hi-Pref on them are the rectangle port ones, tho.
Possible a crate LS6 might have a code like this.

Accoding to a older Chevy Performance Parts Catalog the suffix code for a crate LS6 is XAA and for the crate LS7 its XCH.


XXW is a mystery, I would check this again to be sure.
