View Full Version : 06A Z10 yes or no?
69-Z11Pacer Oct 30th, 03, 11:14 AM I was at a customer's house today. We got to talking about cars, as I frequently do..., and he mentions he has a '69 camaro in the garage out back. Said it was white and orange. Of course I said "can I see it?"... he says sure.
He takes me down, and we pull the cover off of the car...not bad I thought...then he let me open the hood...looks like it's a Z10. Black houndstooth, console/guages, tach.
His cell phone rang and he had to go outside. I quickly scratched down the numbers in my hand with a pen.
Can someone see if this car is in the registry, and if you think these numbers match-up....
Heres what I got...may have messed up one or two numbers, but pretty sure not...
VIN: 124379N653628
TRIM TAG LINE ONE: ST69 12437 NOR346874BDY
TRIM TAG LINE TWO: TR713 50 50PNT
TRIM TAG LINE THREE: 06A Z10
What do you guys think? A little late??? I asked if he wanted to sell it and he said he wasn't sure.
I'm not sure when the production stopped on these, but the tag looked original. What are your thoughts?
x22d80ragtop Oct 30th, 03, 01:23 PM Vin number seems to match the id tag as far as month goes. If the trim tag looked original and not a reproduction I would say you found one.

Z10 production is 04C to 05A with VINs in the N63xxxx to low 64xxxx range.
The Z10's were a promotional production for the SW USA dealers that felt slighted by not getting enough Z11's. They were all built over a relatively short period of time and I don't even know if you, as a buyer could actually order one. There is no Z10 option code specified on any dealer order forms, or any other literature. They may have been some kind of internal GM announcement letter to the dealers or the Zone office(s)telling them that a certain limited quantity of these cars would be made available to dealers in the SW. I think they were fitted out with standard sets of options, and interior colors and delivered to the dealers rather quickly to get the dealers off the Zone offices back. As a result the body numbers on Z10's are fairly tight. This one's VIN and Body Number is nowhere near the rest of the Z10 cars.
The VIN and body number stated in the question above, is appropriate for am 06A car, so I doubt there are any typos in the listing.

Maybe the tag was misread abit...
a 5 could be read as a 3 if it was in a hurry and the 06A can also be read as a 05A. (or the ink on your hands ran out because of the sweat, finding a Z10 :D )
Great find, if real!
You can always call the guy sometime later and ask him for the numbers and if he would sell it now....
Goodluck!
69-Z11Pacer Oct 31st, 03, 01:37 PM Good Call Mark!!! I had to go back to that job today, and the guy remembered me. He said he would take 16000.00 for the car. I said seems cheap for a nice Z10, he said nah, it's a clone. He must have known I was on to him. By the way some of the posted numbers are wrong, so if anyone put this car in their database, take it out because my original post has wrong #'s in it.... I have the real VIN written down, and the original tag is MIA... so who knows what the car was...such a shame if you ask me. Was supposedly a clone already when he got it.

Kurt S Nov 1st, 03, 05:46 PM Steve,
Nice car.
What's the engine code out of curiosity?
Thanks!
KevinW Nov 2nd, 03, 04:23 AM A freinds of mine's Z10 is also a 04L. graemlins/thumbsup.gif and it has the original engine too, HB. Black custom int, t350, A/C out of texas.
I don't think it was ever in any registry though. I wonder what the OTIS car went for?
