Can anyone tell me about this engine.
The front pad # is FO629GF. I couldnt read the # on the back of the engine. Any help would be appreciated.

Jason,
You didn't give the casting number on the block so it could be several things. Among them are:
1955 or 1956 265
1957, 1965, 1966 or 1967 283
assembled on June 29th in Flint, Michigan.
If you can give me the casting number, I can be more specific.

I finally got the # on the back of the engine. It reads 9849852. I was told it was a 327 with forged flat tops. the heads are 461 camel humps.
Thanks

Your casting number is 3849852. The first 3 could look like a 9. The GF code confirms that it is a:
1965/66 Full size Chev- 283/195hp with Powerglide trans - 2 bolt main engine.
The 461 heads are not original to this engine.
