657 block is one block used in 67 camaro's as for the journal large or small , that went round and round here a while back , I never did hear the end of it but it went something like this , it is comon knowledge that GM (chevrolet) went to large journal in 1968 , but ! in 1967 they introduced the first ever 350 , which was built with the 657 block same as 327 and 302 , some folk's say that the 350's were large journal ? and the 657 327's and 302's were small journal ??? as for myself I have never seen a 1967 chevrolet v8 with large journal ???? DUNO?

Cherolet has never made a small journal 350 crank. The 350 for the '67 Camaro was a large journal motor and did use the 657 block. It would be nice to know what is on the stamp pad of your motor.

I picked up the motor today, there are no numbers on the pad in front of the passenger side cylinder head. The date stamp is B147. It appears to be a 4" bore (not overbore) however there is a sleeve in the #6 hole. It has a forged 2680 crank, that according to More-Tec is a 327 small journal. The crank has been ground and it needs to be ground again. I think I'll keep looking for another engine.
